Sunday Sketches - Native American Lady

This week I decided to start work on my next painting of a lady dressed in traditional costume. So far I've done the Geisha and the Indian lady. This next piece I'm going to do differently I want to do it on canvas with mixed media as I'm having so much fun experimenting with different materials.

So this is my initial sketch. I've decided to actually stick this sketch on to the canvas and paint it on there along with some other materials. I really don't know how it's going to turn out but I think it's going to be fun working it out!

I shall post the finished painting later in the week.

I love her!! This will turn out great, I am sure of it. I've stuck a sketch onto canvas before, and one thing to be a bit careful about, is those darn air bubbles! I think if you are doing mixed media, it won't matter, but if you want a smooth face, it may be frustrating. If you can, make sure the medium is spread evenly, put a book under the canvas so that it becomes a hard surface, and try and use a brayer to smooth your sketch down.
Or just go for it and don't worry, which is probably the best way, lol!

Wow, this sketch is wonderful! I love the Tooth Fairy note! very cute. Resin really is not as scary as it seems. Just follow the directions. I was scared at first, but now it is fun. :)
