Sunday Sketch and Mixed Media Monday 'Seeing Red'

Well I have been productive this weekend!! This afternoon I sat down in front of the tele to write up a list of things that I would like to do creatively, like turning some of my artwork into bookmarks and wearable art etc, I guess it was like a 'To Do' list as I've got so many ideas bouncing around in my head. I did write a list but then whilst watching a movie I seemed to start drawing this vampire girl. I drew her with a blue ball point pen and when she revealed herself to me with those droplets of blood I decided to colour them red so they would stand out. I just used one of my fine liners, I also used a brown one just to give the hair some extra oomf!!!

Anyway here she is I'm off to read my book about vampires heheheh (The short second life of Bree Tanner, in the Twilight series). I started this one on the plane but never got to finish it!

She's one good Vampire lady.... GREAT. I like how you colored just the red pops of blood...I enjoyed the Twilight series of books, too.
btw, I LOVE the artwork you used for your new banner, too - it's really simple and beautiful.

Hi Nicola, thanks for popping in to see me! :) I hope your trip went well. I too have been away a lot and still don't have the time I'd like, to get back in the flow of blogging but I'm so looking forward to it when I can! I did a simialr picture recently where I had droplets falling on the girl and for some reason I painted (some of)them red...hmmm...maybe it means something? ;o) xx

Hello! Thank you for stopping by my place. Oy! Look at her. She sure gave my heart a thump when I saw the blood! But I think that was the intended effect! Have a great week! Nice meeting you!

Vampires never get old for me. :) How's the book? I haven't read this one yet.

Nice to see you back - full of inspiration from your holidays. You didn't go to Transylvania too did you? Funnily enough, after I painted my vampire lady I picked up a vampire book to read. It's called The Historian... already very spooky although nothing more sinister than someone disappearing leaving has happened!

Great vampire girl Nicola!! I look like that sometimes after eating spaghetti :) hehe

I love your idea of writing down your 'wants' or goals. I need to do that. I'm seriously trying to put the practice of positive thinking and putting my desires out there for the universe to handle. It's kind of difficult sometimes though because my mind wanders! LOL

Thank you too for your encouragement - I have been studying your tooth fairy with so much more interest and appreciation since starting faces myself - you are truly and inspiration, Kristin xo

Love the big beautiful eyes...and the small touches of red are more effective then a whole bunch of red.
