Miss Lila the lady bird loved nothing more on a sunny afternoon than to hop into her leaf boat and drift down the stream with her picnic and a good book!
Thanks Nicola...Can I tell you a secret? I'd never heard of egg tempera before either. This is only my 2nd piece using it. I really like it. You mix egg yolk with powdered pigment, and apply glazes. They dry really quick - instantly, so you don't have to wait like you do with watercolor or oils, and it has a luminous, transparency to it. The final product is shiny, and you can even buff it. It is longer lasting than oils.
Hi Nicola!!! I love your lady bug...and her cute picnic basket....very clever....I also want to thank you for your kindness and support over the last week....we will never ever get over this tragedy...but with family and friends we never feel alone....
Miss Lila sounds like a good match for my iguana drifting on the log. thanks for stopping by....your lady bug is adorable...love the idea and your artwork Nicola.
