'Immovable' and Sunday Sketches

Well this week I got side tracked from my usual routine of coming up with a piece for Illustration Friday. But today I finally go time to sit down and work on a painting that had been in my head all week. The word for Illustration Friday was 'Immovable' and this was the image that I sketched days ago but never got to paint in time. It was sketched on card board and I was going to paint on that but I decided that this idea needed a canvas and I'm glad i went with that.

I think it's finished, and I'm thinking that once it's varnished I'll put it in my etsy shop. Soon I'll be stocking my shop with new pendants and new paintings so watch this space!

Oh Nicola, it's perfect for the subject! I love the feeling behind it and movement of the tree that contrasts with the loving couple! xx

how romantically wonderful. I love the lovers embraced next to the trunk of a strong tree, it makes the embrace even stronger for me.

Nicola - this is really special! I love the couple and the fact that they are clinging to each other - so full of meaning and so beautifully executed! Thank you too for your visit and sweet comments, they mean so much, Kristin xo

This is lovely - like this styleyou are using. I have a watercolour i picked up at Harmony Arts festival right beside me and the subject matter is so similar i cant believe it, its says "my haeart is like a singing bird" so interesting the similarity and the difference, two places, two people, somehow a flow of inspiration - i live that!

compare with the sketches, the final looks just like it, I find it's really hard to get the final to look what you have conceived in your head, I usually take a big detour

wonderful sketch, wonderful final version, love the heart-shaped leaves & the movements of the trees in comparison to the two figures is a perfect combination
