My newest piece and Mixed media Monday 'I've been wanting to.....'
UPDATE: Well I've been so busy working on a commission this week and I'm afraid I can't show you til it's all finished, it's a series of 3 paintings and I'm nearly finished number one! I can't wait to see it all together it's been quite a challenge.
Today I saw this weeks prompt for Mixed Media Monday and thought that my recent piece in my last post was perfect as I had been want to try making this type of necklace/pendant for quite a while, and it was the first time that I had used a cabochan. So this is my entry for Mixed Media Monday.
(this next bit is from my previous post)
I just had to share this one with you as I'm feeling quite proud of it, I tried some new things with this one and I feel like it turned out quite delicate and pretty, its also available in my etsy shop!
It has been made from a print of an original painting titled 'Precious Moment'.
I glued it inside the raw brass lace edge setting with a clear acrylic magnifying cabochon on top.
I then used a combination of a vintage brown cat's eye bead chain and antique copper curb chain 3mm to sit it on. I would really like to learn more about jewellery making as I enjoyed fiddling with this one this afternoon. I love using my prints for wearable art.

Nicola, your jewellery is fab! I love this one, the antiqued gold and the pendant with that gorgeous print really work beautifully together:-)
Really beautiful! The little print looks great, and I love the antique look of the chain :) ~Lauren
Lovely work Nic. Great colours and the image works so well in that pendant.
Lovely pendant! and I really liked your "immovable" painting- great composition and movement in the tree branches.

The window in your art space is great - thanks for sharing where you work... I always love to picture other artists in their creative spaces :)

I'm now catching up on some of my fave blogs, and I checked out your previous post where you show your workspace. I love when people have larger pictures, because being a nosy girl, I like to get a good look, lol! You've got a great area there! is that an Ott lite I see?
