'Rose'

This is a canvas that I think I'm going to donate to my son's school twilight fair. They said they would put it in a silent auction. I'm very happy with it. I had to restrain myself from adding eyelashes to her as I wanted to try something different. I had to slow myself down and spent a few days on this one instead of 1 as I felt like I would get excited and rush things the more I got into them. So this was an experiment in a few ways. I also painted layers upon layers of colour and used my fingers to do the last layer of the background just for something different.

She's lovely Nicola! What a great and generous item to donate! I'm guessing there will be a bidding war :)

This is sooo pretty, love the red rose blooming, its gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your new technique too. I always end up rushing my work because I feel like my time is scheduled! But sometimes working on pieces for longer really pays off. This really nice work, Nicola, well done:-)

Nicola!!! You are amazing. She is simply stunning, lady. Your work is just getting better and better and this one is probably one of my most favorites of yours. I thank you for visiting..you are such a gem. I have been so delayed and amiss at visiting, I apologize! I've been pretty busy, but hopefully I can catch up on all that I've missed these past few weeks. You have been so productive I see. Lovely lovely work, my friend...truly. This one will definitely surely get snapped up at the auction. BRAVO!

I like her without the lashes. :) I'm sure the painting will sell in an instance.
