Paint Party Friday and Sunday Sketches

Hi everyone,

Life has been getting in the way of art again! I have been very busy getting ready for a market that I did last weekend. And there always seems to be something that we have to rush off to! So I'm up early on a Saturday morning and I thought I'd update my blog while it was nice and quiet! :)

Here is my collection for work that I've been working on since my last post!

This is another coloured prisma pencil piece!

I really enjoyed this painting, it was a quick 20 minute exercise. I was actually looking for reference photos of the singer 'Seal' as I was thinking of doing a portrait of him but I got side tracked by all these cute photos of seals hehehehe. I liked working with muted colours for a change.

This piece was an idea that popped into my head and I just had to get it down onto paper, it's watercolour paint and prisma pencils.

This was an exercise I tried, using my colour pencil on black paper, it was interesting to work on this as I found starting on black paper changed the way I saw my drawing!

I'm thinking of doing a Burlesque market in August so have been working on some paintings inspired by this theme!

Even though my market was disappointing last weekend I have had some orders on line for things, this is my latest order. An A3 sized print of 'Scarlett' and a black t-shirt with her print on! This shirt is for a man which has been nice! It's good to know that all sorts of people like my work!

Lastly I just wanted to leave you with some pics of my set up of my stall for last week. Even though I didn't do as well as I'd like I was very proud of how my stall looked and have really enjoyed seeing my paintings as prints and framing them as well as the mugs! I did sell a few things one of which was my Hand painted Owl bag!

I love your stall. Fret not, next time you'll sell more. At least you are getting out there and doing your thing. Way to go. Awesome paintings. Have a wonderful weekend.

Lots of amazing work here. I love your pencil work, although all of it is quite remarkable. I hope the next market goes well for you. The burlesque theme is captured well in your pieces.

Yeah, it can be frustrating when a market isn't what you were expecting. I know the feeling .... But don't give up, you have beautiful stuff and with every market you learn things, so it's never wasted .... That seal is sooo cute! love him!

Hi Nicola,

I think your stall looked fabulous.
Most times there is so much to see at the markets that people will hold back buying and chose one item to buy at the end of their walk through. Your art definitely is gorgeous and i simply luv Scarlet, very unique .

I'm sure you'll do better next time and of course lots to be happy for, the art on bags, mugs, etc is a big accomplishment, I haven't even touched on that frontier as yet!

p.s. luv the little doe eyed seal, so beautiful!

Thanks for sharing,
Annabelle O,O
