Had to share these pics of where we stayed!
Our room was the very bottom one where you step out into the pool........
I even got a bit of backstroke in.......
Our little lagoon :0)
We did have a lovely time, but upon our return had to deal with the kids both getting gastro one after the other then of course it was my turn this week, I have never been so sick....today it's hubby's turn ah well.....we still have the memories of the holiday ;0)
I have done a bit of drawing and painting around all these crazy happenings so let me share with you what I have been working on lately.
This is another sketch with my new prismacolour pencils! :)
I finished my school mural, here are some pics of it in front of the wall that it's going to be mounted on, I'll show you when it goes up but wanted to share it here :)
Really enjoyed working on this one! :)
These two are my Day of the Dead inspired ladies. I painted them in water colour and also used the prismacolor pencils on top to add some depth. I'm in love with my drippy ladies! :0)
This last piece is a canvas commission that I finished today. I'm especially proud of this one as it was totally outside of my comfort zone, I really love a challenge though so it was great to do!
Sorry for the looooong post but I had so much to share as I had missed a couple of Fridays. Hope you are all well and I look forward to seeing what you've all been up to since I've been away! Happy Friday!

what a beautiful vacation spot! It's nice to be able to have a bit of time away from the kids and I think it's good for them too. So sorry everyone's suffering with that bad bug-ugh. Hope all is well real soon. Fantastic collection of art pieces!! Love the portrait at the top-that lady has a look of determination. Happy PPF!

How nice to have a holiday away with your husband but such a downer to get the dreaded tummy bug! You have created some beautiful work in different styles but all as wonderful as each other!

Hi Nicola, gorgeous blog! I recently finally got a set of prismas, after being jealous of my Canadian boyfriends :D Havent been able to do much with them yet - but am very encouraged after seeing your work. I look forward to following your artmaking. Beautiful work. Best wishes, Raechel from etsy ;)
wow loving your holiday location, stepping right into that magical pool, so delicious.

Love that sketch, and the school mural is amazing! Yes, you picked rather a bad week in Queensland, it has been bucketing down with rain the last weeks. That swimmingpool looks so inviting, such a shame about the weather ....
It's all so well done, but I love your first Day of the Dead lady, she has a mystical quality about her that is intriguing. Happy PPF
I would love to stay there. Your art is pretty cool. I like the first one she has a secrete. LOL

Love the playground mural and your other fantastic pieces!<3
The holiday spot looks so inviting and relaxing, must of been quite a treat walking directly into that pool from your room.
Love all of your lovely art work , specifically the girl with the interesting look in her eyes.
Take care .
