Hi guys, first of all Happy Mothers day to all you yummy mummies out there!!!
I have been very spoiled today as hubby has been preparing a special lunch since yesterday :0)
He made homemade spinach and ricotta gnocchi with a slow cooked pork spare rib tomato sauce topped with pancetta parsley and parmesan cheese, mixed salad with olives and fennel etc and garlic bread. I'm very lucky that hubby used to be a chef in his past life, for 15 years to be exact and every now and again I'm thankfully reminded. We had both our mums here for the day as well as the dads and had a lovely lunch out on our deck as it was a beautiful Autumn day :0)
I wanted to share this sketch that I did yesterday. It is part of the 'Sistahood of the travelling sketchbook' which I have mentioned before :0). Last week I received Eva's book and this entry is about "May". In our part of the world it is now Autumn so May for me is filled with those beautiful Autumn colours. It's my most favourite time of year and I never tire of seeing the leaves change into those beautiful striking reds and oranges.
I really like this design and can't wait to paint it!
Hope you're having a great weekend!!!!!

So your husband is an artist as well!! How delicious this whole meal sounds AND looks. Love your started design--it's funny how Spring is trying very hard to come about here--everything is slowly but surely coming alive, and it's just the opposite for you. Hope you have a great day.

I'm loving the way this double spread is going :D Can't wait to see how it ends up.
Such a lovely piece, I love the feeling of life and freedom, beauty too that is portrayed in it. Your food looks oh so yummy.
I always wanted a tree swing with really long ropes that makes you feel like you're flying!
love this sketch!!!!!!!!! beautiful and feminine! i love that about your work. yummy looking lunch indeed! xo
wow! i'm impressed and somewhat hungry now. ha!! how lucky for you;-) happy mom's day, sweetie. love the sketches also...xoxoxo!
I'm drooling on my keyboard looking at that yummy lunch! Love your sketch. She would be in no danger of being chilly here, out on her swing in the nude. It's so hot here, I think swinging high, creating your own breeze, might feel very nice.
Wonderful sketch...love the flowing lines!
Your food looks sooo yummy. I really love your sketch. Fall is my favorite time of year. We're just coming in to Spring but the last few years we pretty much go from Winter to Summer.
I love this pic it sort of has a feeling of freedom to me. Like that exhilarating feeling you get when on a swing. I also love the colours of this time of year. Playing with the boys kicking up the leaves is so much fun. I think this pic captures all those happy feelings. You again are such a truly amazing artist who can put so much feeling into a picture. Awesome can't wait to see it painted.
Lucky you.. that meal looks amazing... love your drawing for Eva's book.. can hardly wait to see it finished.. glad you had such an awesome Mother's day!!
Lucky you being spoiled like that. :) The page spread looks amazing. I wonder what colors you're gonna use. :)
