I bought a book with canvas pages in it. I haven't used one before and it's really handy as I like painting on canvas but don't have the room for hundreds of stretched canvas. Does anyone know if you can frame a canvas page or does it have to be stretched?
I painted this girl after being inspired by my cousins little girl. She received a costume like this for her 3rd birthday and I thought it was so cute that I was inspired to paint her :0)
This next painting was a little challenge I set myself. I tend to always go for lots of different bright colours in my paintings especially warm colours like reds and oranges. So this piece I decided to stick to some cooler colours and limit the amount of different colours. I quite like her :0) I also used some pencil and permanent black marker for some details :0)
Hope you're all having a good 'Good Friday' :0) and I look forward to seeing what everyone else has been doing this week. If you would like to see the other artists involved in Paint Part Friday just click on the link on the right hand side :0)

Loving both your paintings especially the last one. Am new to all this so don't know the answer to your question, sorry. Wishing you a very Happy Easter, Annette x
I love the lady bug girl. I rarely work on canvas so I'm not sure. But it seems to me you'd have to had stretched it before you painted on it or you'd destroy your artwork.
I have on occasion done an ACEO on a little piece of canvas paper. That was never stretched and did fine. I would think you could just mat the canvas paper.
Nicloa,
so cute, what a great little ladybug girl! I love the bottom girl's hair, too! your art is so fun! xo
Nicola I love these new girls!! Your art is always fun to see and is bright and cheery! I will have to check out paint party friday! :) And if I didn't already thank you for your lovely comment on my still life post last week! :)
I love them both. So cute! :-)
I am LOVING your ladies, especially the last one- great composition!
As for the canvas pages, you can do either- frame or stretch- but if you use oils, I think you have to frame it without glass so it can breathe.
Isn't fun to change up art styles from time to time!
PPF hugs,
Stephanie
LOVE...your art!! I like to paint on the canvas papers and then cut them up for collage--I don't do anyting special to them for the collage part--I just use gel medium to adhere them ,and they're fine on the final surface--I really like the canvas paper too.
The LadyBug girl is my favorite. Your work is so colorful and fun! Happy PPF!
Hi Nicola!!!! the lady bug is so so sweet!!! as all your work....but I have a special thing for Lady Bugs!!!
Happy Good Friday and Happy PPF!!!!
cute little girls!
Such fun paintings :)
The challenge you gave yourself worked out really well - I like your limited palette and her hair is fabulous!
(You can just go ahead and frame your canvas paper... no stretching necessary. I leave the glass off though.)
Have a wonderful weekend!
xo

Lovely girls! Yes, I think you can frame the canvas paper by mounting it to acid free mat board with the proper adhesive.
Love your little girls. They are so sweet! Happy Easter and PPF! Thanks for sharing.
your girls are lovely! I especially love the cute little lady bug girl, she is just precious!
I think even cool colors can be considered bright as well. Happy Easter to you

I love the hair in the second one! It makes me think she is underwater. Maybe that and the color. Very nice!
These are so fun! I especially like the hair in the second one.
I also have a pad of canvas paper, but haven't tried it yet. Looks like it worked well for you.
Cute girls! Love the different styles you get by using different palettes.
