Here is my butterfly commission all finished. I think they look so pretty all lined up together. I'm really happy with how it turned out as it's my first commissioned piece where I have used oils. The green butterfly (colour requested from client) was a bit of a challenge as I wanted to make sure the butterfly stood out, so I added more blossoms in the background. I reached a point where I wasn't sure if it was finished or not but didn't really think I should add anymore. I think I had just stared at it for far too long. Do you ever feel like that?
Ohhhhh they all turned out sooooo well!!! You should be so proud of this trio nicola!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your client! Can you offer prints of these three?
They would make great cards!
So glad you shared!

ReplyDeleteNicola!! Amazing! Great job! And, yes, I have done that several times, when you just keep looking at a pianting, wondering, should I do anymore with it! LOL! Take Care ;o)

ReplyDeleteThese butterflies are awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I overthink entirely way too much on my pieces--these are perfect!!
These are lovely! I know exactly what you mean - when doing oils it is easy to spend too much time going over and over. I've found that taking a photo at the end of each session helps to see it with fresh eyes and I can spot things in the photo (like if the angle of something is wrong) that I couldn't see from staring at the picture itself. You don't need to worry about these however as they are beautiful and clearly perfectly finished!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! I love butterflies in any shape and color. I'm sure you client is going to love them! I think the green stands out nicely against the flowers. Great job!
